At "Die Höhle der Löwen" a couple presented their vegan sauce "Veprosa". The investors celebrated the product – but the viewers cannot share this enthusiasm.
Cologne – On Monday (May 15), Alissa Kübler (28) and her husband Domenik (33) ventured into "Die Höhle der Löwen" and brought their vegan high-protein sauce "Veprosa" with them. The healthy and protein-rich alternative to conventional, usually quite greasy sauces is available in powder form. A pack costs 3.49 euros and is prepared in just three minutes. However, the product is not particularly well received by viewers.
"Höhle der Löwen" investors celebrate "Veprosa" – Ralf Dümmel claws his way to the deal
"Veprosa" has been available for purchase since 2022 and has generated 15,000 euros in sales in the past two months. In order to be able to become larger, the founders offered investors thirteen percent of the company for 100,000 euros. After the taste test of the vegan sauce, the "Höhle der Löwen" jurors were thrilled. Nils Glagau (47), Tillmann Schulz (33) and Ralf Dümmel (56) even wanted to invest. The lions were also enthusiastic about "eSelly" founder Olaf Zimmer, but his deal fell through after "Die Höhle der Löwen".
Nils Glagau, Tillmann Schulz and Ralf Dümmel threw themselves into the bidding war. "The vegan world has been with our company for a long time. You have bet on the right horse and it tastes good," praised Nils Glagau. DHDL darling Ralf Dümmel also courted the "Veprosa" founders and knows: "The vegetarian sector is growing, the market is huge." In the end, he got the deal on the terms mentioned.
The most successful business ideas at "Die Höhle der Löwen"
Pony Puffn: The practical rubber tool, with which you can make the perfect ponytail in a flash, has long since conquered the drugstores in this country and has become a real bathroom must-have.
Ankerkraut: Since the natural spice blends of the Jesteburg-based brand celebrated their premiere in the investor show in 2016, they have now recorded millions of euros in sales.
Happybrush: Dental hygiene is important – every child knows that. The brushes from Happybrush, which work with sound, therefore promise particularly thorough tooth cleaning - which has brought the company great success since its appearance in the popular VOX format.
Too expensive and unnecessary: viewers tear up "Die Höhle der Löwen" product
However, Twitter users cannot understand the enthusiasm in the "lion's den". "Don't understand why it's going so steeply. And I'm really open-minded vegan," one user wondered. Another said: "I'll cook you a delicious dhal. There is a portion of about 1 euro. And not a crumb of powder. Please. Gladly." The price bothers some viewers. "Sorry, but 3.49 ... for a gravy ... I'll stick with the poisonous Knorr," one Twitter user railed. Others, on the other hand, suggest that dishes should be cooked 100 percent naturally from vegetables and without powder – which would be healthy as well as vegan.

Some DHDL fans are sure that they will soon find "Veprosa" "on the grab tables of Netto". It was a different story for founders in 2017: The Morotai entrepreneurs were able to convince both investors and viewers in "Die Höhle der Löwen" – and are now even multimillionaires.
