In the video: Uriel Bosso to Almog Cohen: "You left Sderot, did you see what was happening? (Knesset channel)
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir decided on Tuesday to remove his party member MK Almog Cohen from his membership in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. This comes after Cohen conducted himself independently over the past two months and criticized Ben-Gvir's conduct in the coalition.
In response to Ben-Gvir's decision, Cohen issued a harsh response, writing: "At a time when crime in the Negev and Galilee is celebrating and civilians are being murdered in the streets, it is worthwhile to deal with creating solutions, and less with personal revenge. I am proud that I stood my ground in closed rooms to vote in favor of the budget, as was done tonight, in order to preserve this important right-wing government that is bringing huge budgets and national projects to the Negev."
"I was sorry to hear about my removal from the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee," Cohen added, "I will serve the residents of the Negev faithfully every step of the way. I'm just wondering who's replacing me, Hanmal?" referring to Ben-Gvir's chief of staff, Hanmal Dorfman, who led a militant line against him within the party."
