The White House announced on Tuesday, May 23, that Joe Biden would receive on June 5 Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, whose country is one of those that could provide fighter jets to Ukraine. The two leaders will discuss their cooperation "to strengthen transatlantic security and economic prosperity," US spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. Their talks will also focus on their "unwavering support" for Ukraine.
NATO member Denmark is one of the countries participating in an international coalition recently set up to provide fighter jets to the Ukrainian military, including US-made F-16s, with Washington's blessing. The Scandinavian country is in the process of replacing its F-16 fleet with F-35s, and has already committed to training Ukrainian pilots.
Joe Biden and Mette Frederiksen will also, according to the White House, talk about energy security and climate change.
