Icking - A 19-year-old woman died in a car accident in the municipality of Icking (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district). The woman was traveling as a passenger with a man of the same age who had crashed his car into a tree, a police spokesman said on Tuesday morning. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He had strayed with his car in the night to Tuesday to the left of the road at Icking. The officers suspect that he had driven too fast. The passenger was immediately dead, according to the police spokesman.

A spokesman for the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South in Rosenheim summarizes what happened: On Tuesday (May 22), the rescue services and the police stations Starnberg and Wolfratshausen were alerted to a traffic accident at around 23:15 p.m. The accident occurred on the state road 2070, on the connecting road between Icking/Dorfen and Höhenrain.
The driver of a BMW lost control of his vehicle in the area of the motorway underpass for an unknown reason. As a result, the BMW went off the road and crashed into a tree. As a result of the impact, the 19-year-old passenger suffered such serious injuries that an emergency doctor could only determine death.

The driver of the car, who was also 19 years old, was freed from the vehicle with serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The Wolfratshausen Police Inspectorate took over the investigation into the accident under the direction of the Munich II Public Prosecutor's Office. An expert opinion was commissioned for this purpose. The forces of the Wolfratshausen Police Inspectorate were supported by officers from the Starnberg Police Inspectorate.
Around 55 members of the volunteer fire brigades of Höhenrain, Dorfen and Münsing as well as emergency doctors and rescue workers were involved in the operation. The road was completely closed for several hours for the accident recording and recovery. (cce)
