Cannes Film Festival: a man in cardiac arrest on the sidelines of a cegetic gathering

A man suffered a cardiac arrest Tuesday on the sidelines of a CGT demonstration at Cannes train station, following the explosion of an agricultural bomb, an AFP journalist found. A rally was organized by the union at 10:30 am against the pension reform in France, outside the perimeter prohibited by the prefecture on the occasion of the Festival.

An elderly man who was near the rally suffered a cardiac arrest after a very noisy agricultural bomb exploded and was immediately taken care of by a medical team from a CRS company, according to the AFP journalist. "In a serious condition, he was first taken care of by a medical team of the CRS who performed a cardiac massage. He was then taken care of by firefighters, "said a police source, without further details.

Power outage

About 160 people, according to the prefecture, gathered in the morning in front of the station of Cannes, before a speech of the secretary general of the CGT Energy, Sébastien Menesplier. At about the same time, a power cut occurred at the central police station, said the police source, who said it had been "momentary".

Earlier in the morning, Enedis management had foiled an attempt to cut power at the Cannes-La Bocca power plant, which supplies much of the city of Cannes, she said.
