As the traffic police Freising announced, the man from Munich was traveling with a gray Mercedes at 5.55 a.m. on the A99 in the direction of Stuttgart. At irregular intervals, he accelerated and braked – until it became too much for his passenger (36). In a risky manoeuvre, she grabbed the man at Oberschleissheim in the wheel, the car slid over the shoulder and came to a halt in the ditch next to it.

The man then got out of the vehicle, ran onto the highway and moved with his arms stretched to the side in the fast lane opposite to the flowing traffic. "Several road users were able to prevent an accident just by taking evasive action," reports Police Chief Inspector Michael Binder. The 34-year-old went back to the hard shoulder, threw stones at cars and shocked a woman from the district of Freising. He hit their white Mercedes with a stone – property damage: around 4000 euros.

A patrol of the Munich police put an end to the hustle and bustle and possibly saved the ghost walker's life. The man, who is apparently mentally ill and had several narcotics in the car, was no longer responsive. He was given first aid by the ambulance service and taken to Dachau Hospital. Ft
