CNN anchor apologizes to Dee family: 'I made a mistake in my tongue' - voila! Berenger

Last month, CNN's senior anchor Christiane Amanpour described the murders of Lucy, Maya and Rina Dee as a "shootout." The members of the Dee family, mother Lucy and her daughters Rina and Maya, were on their way to a family vacation in the north when terrorists opened fire on their car and they were murdered instantly. The father of the family, Rabbi Leo Dee, protested to CNN and demanded an on-air apology. In an interview with i24NEWS, Rabbi Dee said that the director of CNN in Jerusalem called him and apologized to him by phone. He also received an email from Amanpour apologizing for the incident, he said in an interview.

"The fact that they said they were 'killed' and not 'brutally murdered' by evil terrorists funded by Iran is typical CNN, that they were actually trying to make a comparison between the victims and the terrorists." Rabbi Dee told i24NEWS that he is considering filing a lawsuit for more than $<> billion if the network doesn't apologize on-air and change its approach to covering Israel.

Shortly after the interview aired on i24NEWS, the apology came on CNN: "Amanpour: On April <>, I referred to the murder of the members of the Israeli-British family, Lucy Dee, and Maya and Rina Dee, the wife and daughters of Rabbi Leo Dee. During that live interview, I misstated that they were killed in shootouts, not a shootout. I wrote to Rabbi Dee and apologized to make sure he knew I apologized for any pain he had caused."
