Economics Minister Robert Habeck is currently one of the most unpopular politicians. Only one minister in the traffic light government fares worse.

Munich – It started so well for Robert Habeck: The Green politician was once considered the most popular politician in Germany. But those days are over.

There is a lack of understanding among the general population for Habeck's actions: be it in the heating debate or in Habeck's adherence to his state secretary Patrick Graichen after his best man affair. All this is eroding the population's confidence in the Federal Minister of Economics.

In the witness affair, it had become known that Habeck's state secretary Graichen had helped to make his best man Michael Schäfer the head of the German Energy Agency. Later, other names around the Green network came to light.

Poll shows: Habeck is one of the most unpopular ministers in the country

Habeck is now getting the receipt for this: The Minister of Economics is currently considered the second most unpopular minister in the traffic light government. This is shown by the Insa opinion trend, which was commissioned by Bild.

Accordingly, Habeck currently occupies 16th place. In last, 17th place, the Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) landed this week, as reported by Bild. Faeser is currently considered the most unpopular minister in the traffic light coalition. Habeck still held this last place last week. He was then able to fight his way back to penultimate place this week.

Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser performs even worse than Habeck

Interior Minister Faeser is losing popularity, especially among her own electorate. According to the current ranking of politicians, it lost four points among SPD voters.

Particularly striking about Faeser's downward trend: "Twice as many respondents (40 percent) have a negative attitude towards Faeser than a positive one (20 percent)," INSA boss Hermann Binkert told Bild.

One possible reason for Faeser's poor performance is probably the refugee policy of the Minister of the Interior, who repeatedly encounters criticism.

Even more unpopular than fiber are currently only Left Party leader Janine Wissler (18th place) and the two AfD leaders Alice Weidel (19th place) and Tino Chrupalla (20th place), reports Bild.

Greens lose support – Good poll results for AfD

According to the latest Insa poll (22 May), the SPD's poll numbers are 20.5 percent, an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the previous week (15 May). The Greens, on the other hand, lost half a point and are now at 14 percent.

The values of the FDP (8.5 percent) and the Left Party (5 percent) remain unchanged. The Union slips by half a point to 27.5 percent.
