Charlène of Monaco is the patron of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week, the princess loves fashion – yet she stayed away from the event. A well-deserved break or cause for concern?

Monte-Carlo – Princess Charlène of Monaco (45) is known for her elegant looks and stylish outfits. The wife of Prince Albert II (65) did not miss the Fashion Week in Paris last autumn, and a visit to the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week would have been even more obvious. Charlène is the patron of the event and charmed in 2022 with an appearance at the Fashion Awards Ceremony alongside her daughter, Princess Gabriella (8). But this year, Monaco's princess was conspicuous by her absence.

She is the patron: Charlène's absence from Monte-Carlo Fashion Week raises questions

Most recently, Charlène of Monaco presented herself with a new hair color at the presentation of the Maria Callas Prize at the Monte-Carlo Opera together with her husband Prince Albert. Previously, the Monegasque princely couple was one of the guests at the coronation of King Charles III (74) at Westminster Abbey in London. Did Charlène need a break after all the hustle and bustle?

So far, there has been no explanation from the palace about the absence of the princess at the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week, which took place from 17 to 21 May, although the event should actually be a royal must-do for her as patron. In addition, the former professional swimmer seemed to visibly enjoy last year's appointment. While Charlène is currently withdrawing from the public eye, other members of the Monegasque princely family are in the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival.

Separation rumors about Charlène and Albert: Palast released statement

After the French magazine Royauté claimed that the Monegasque princely couple, who have been married since 2011, were in the process of separation, the palace felt compelled to make a public statement in the spring. A spokeswoman said: "I would like to officially deny the malicious rumours spread by the French magazine Royauté. Please do not pay attention to this article, it has no basis whatsoever."

After time out: Will Princess Charlène show up at the Monaco Grand Prix?

Albert's sister Caroline von Hannover (66) attended the premiere of the new Scorsese film "Killers of the Flower Moon" in Cannes together with daughter Charlotte Casiraghi (36) and her husband Dimitri Rassam (41). At the opening ceremony, Beatrice Borromeo (37), the wife of Caroline's youngest son Pierre Casiraghi (35), made a breathtaking appearance.

The last weekend in May, when Formula 1 will make a stop in Monte-Carlo, is now eagerly awaited. At last year's Monaco Grand Prix, Charlène was in a good mood at the award ceremony alongside Prince Albert and twins Jacques and Gabriella. The Monegasque fans would celebrate a radiant appearance of their princess, especially after Charlène had caused question marks with a dismal performance at the coronation of King Charles III.
