Ignacio Arce, goalkeeper and member of the Platense squad, was arrested on Tuesday accused of hitting his partner, a sports journalist.
The operation for the apprehension of the footballer for the complaint of gender violence was in charge of the Tigre Patrol Command and the cause is in the hands of prosecutor Pablo Menteguiaga.
The goalkeeper, 31, was arrested in Solis and Las Vías, in the private neighborhood Venice, in the town of Buenos Aires, after, according to the municipality, the aggressor "took his partner with blows" after an argument.
The victim has injuries to his right leg, the same sources detailed.
Arce had arrived in Platense with the pass in his possession at the end of December, after playing for Unión La Calera in Chile. He signed a contract until December 2023, with the option to extend the link for another year.
Who is Ignacio Arce
His full name is Ignacio Jesús Arce, he was born in Paraná and is 31 years old. He took his first steps in football at the age of 9 in Argentinos, a neighborhood club in his city until reaching the lower ranks in San Martín de Tucumán.
El Mono, as he was nicknamed by his teammates, was part of the famous South American U-17 that meant the jump of Emiliano Martínez to Arsenal. Argentina lost the final on penalties with Brazil but Dibu blocked two shots from 12 steps, none other than Coutinho, who would become a true figure, and Dudú, who today plays in Palmeiras, which earned him a ticket to Europe.
When he was 18 years old, Frank Darío Kudelka gave him the chance to replace Alejandro Limia in a fall of Unión against Patronato. That was his debut in Primera, although he would not play much again but his team would achieve promotion.
In 2012 he played in Deportivo Merlo and the following year he would have his best season in Atlético Paraná where he saved practically in the entire tournament, 19 of the 20 games that took him to the B Nacional.
In 2018, Arce achieved promotion with San Martín, but only reached the national media a year later when he scored a headed goal against Unión, achieving an agonizing draw.
