Video shows cold shower for climate glue: Angry motorists douse activists with liquid

Motorists defend themselves against road blockades of the "last generation". They douse the climate activists with a liquid. And probably more and more often.

Berlin – Since April, hardly a day has gone by without a roadblock on the A100 motorway in Berlin. The "Last Generation" mobilizes and regularly blocks rush hour traffic. The activists want attention for the climate crisis, motorists react unnerved.

In the process, frustrated drivers repeatedly go over the top. Insults, punches, kicks. A few weeks ago, a man dragged two women off the street by their hair, another spat on a protester with his chewing gum.

It's almost harmless what has apparently become common practice in Berlin: motorists give the climate adhesives a cold shower. They pour water, soda, or whatever they have with them over the glued protesters. The "Last Generation" itself writes that this is happening more and more frequently.

"Despite the brutal departure of protesters by motorists and the increased pouring of liquids over individual people in recent weeks, the A100 and various federal highways are also interrupted today," the group commented on a video on Twitter.

In it, a man can be seen walking towards three protesters. In his hand a bottle, presumably water. He unscrews it and pours the contents over the three young people. Obviously, at least one of them is not glued. For protection, he pulls both arms up before the surge of water hits him. However, the activists do not actively defend themselves and stick to their non-violent form of protest. Violent attempts by motorists to pull away are also not to be seen in the video.

Water instead of physical assaults, apparently motorists have found a new way to vent their frustration. Meanwhile, the "Last Generation" is also finding new methods for its blockades. Activists are increasingly gluing themselves to tires.
