Munich/Berlin – Nationwide raid against the "last generation". The climate group has its back to the wall. Three main defendants are accused of "forming a criminal organization". It is about donations in the amount of 1.4 million euros.
On Wednesday morning, officers searched 15 homes of members across Germany. At noon, the "Last Generation" took a stand in a press conference.
Spokeswoman Aimée van Baalen said in two emotional pleas that the group would not be intimidated, but understood protest as a duty.

After her closing statement, a spokesman surprisingly declared the press conference over. Van Baalen will be available in front of the building for original sounds. "I ask for your understanding that we are going outside and ending this framework here."
"Are we not allowed to ask questions? Here. Now?" asks a journalist. The answer: No. The press spokesman again refers to the quotes and stands up.
The press reacts indignantly. "We've all come here now to ask you questions." Another activist tries to save the situation and holds up a piece of paper with an e-mail address. Representatives of the press are welcome to send questions. No alternative for the press. Now, at the latest, chaos reigns, journalists are loudly demanding a Q&A session, the activists are already standing.
