The gendarmes had been following him for two years now. According to our information, a 22-year-old man, suspected of having committed several rapes and sexual assaults in the Oise, was arrested on May 9, in Finistère, by the soldiers of the research brigade (BR) of Compiègne.
He was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on May 11 for "rape of a minor over 15 years old" and "sexual assault" and "aggravated violence", confirms the public prosecutor of Senlis, Loïc Abrial.
For the time being, seven victims — six of whom were minors over 15 years of age — have been identified as part of the preliminary investigation that had been opened by the Compiègne prosecutor's office, which has since relinquished jurisdiction in favor of the criminal division of Senlis where a judicial investigation is now opened.
The investigations were entrusted to the unit for the fight against crimes against persons (CLAP) of the BR of Compiègne, a unit specializing in this type of violence.

The case began in May 2021 when a young girl – a minor – presented herself to the gendarmerie brigade of Lacroix-Saint-Ouen to denounce a rape. After investigations, the gendarmes discover that other complaints have been filed about this individual hitherto unknown to the justice.
According to a person close to the case, the latter took advantage of his proximity to some victims, met through friends or within his school, at parties or on social networks, to abuse them, sometimes with violence.

For the most part, they were between 15 and 17 years old at the time of the facts allegedly committed between 2019 and 2022, a large part of them in the Compiègne region, where the respondent lived at the time of the facts. The man is identified by some of the teenage girls who know his name. A young woman, who knew him in high school, will also provide a photo to investigators.
A snapshot that will allow victims to confirm the identity of their attacker. But the latter is then nowhere to be found, having obviously left the department of Oise. "It was difficult to locate," confirms a person close to the case.
Subject to a search warrant, he was finally spotted in the region of Quimper (Finistère), where he was also suspected of having committed a rape. In the event of a trial at the Assizes, he faces 20 years in prison.
