A thirteen-month-old girl died Friday, May 19 in her nursery located in Liège, Belgium, after strangling herself with the cord of a blind, announced the prosecutor's office of Liège to the Belga agency and quoted by Le Soir.
According to information from Sudinfo, the baby died a few hours after being transferred to the hospital. The spokeswoman for the Liège prosecutor's office, Catherine Collignon, also announced that "an investigation is underway", to determine the circumstances of the accident.

Sylvie Anzalone, spokeswoman for the Office of Birth and Childhood, told this Belgian media that the accident occurred "shortly after the child was napped", and that "it was when hearing another child cry that the nurse went to see and came across the accident".
