Highlights: The father of the two brothers was interviewed Wednesday morning by Walla! and ruled out the possibility that it was a nationalist-motivated attack. "I have no idea why. My son employs four cousins in his business. My second son also works with him and with them, and I also work in the entire sector, from um al-Fahm to Tira," he said. The father added: "I came to the business to replace the son, but I also have to go to work and my wife will replace me"

Days after they were arrested on suspicion of assaulting Arab youths, the father of the two brothers claims that the attack was not nationalist-motivated. "My son employs four 'cousins' in his business. My other son also works with him, and I also work in the entire sector. I make a strong living from them." He said his children had no reason to be involved in the case

On Sunday, the Shin Bet arrested three young men from Hadera, including a regular IDF soldier and two brothers, on suspicion of attacking Arab youths on nationalist grounds. They allegedly brutally assaulted two boys aged 17-16 from um al-Fahm who were spending time in Hadera about a month ago.

The father of the two brothers was interviewed Wednesday morning by Walla! and ruled out the possibility that it was a nationalist-motivated attack. "It can't be at all, and I don't know why they're going in these directions," the father said. "I have no idea why. My son employs four cousins in his business. My second son also works with him and with them, and I also work in the entire sector, from um al-Fahm to Tira. I make a strong living from them. They are like my family. Everybody. More than family. We feed them. On holidays, I send a thousand people 'Happy holiday,' 'Ramadan Karim.' They send me greetings on our holidays. My son has two businesses, he's married with two kids, do you think he'd be involved in something like that?"

"I was at home when they came, they took my little boy from home and his older brother from his workplace, from his business. They say there is a shortage of police officers, but they came fifty for each. Masked people came. Well behaved but what is this nonsense, what is this stupid country? Where did we go? I was shocked and I'm still in shock until now," the father added.

The father added: "I came to the business to replace the son, but I also have to go to work and my wife will replace me. Angry, sure. About everything. They don't behave this way because my children are good children, working children, normative in everything, they have no criminal record, they have no precedent for such a thing, they have nothing and nothing. They have no hostility. They live with Arabs. On one side of my house is one Arab family and behind the villas is another Arab family. Grow up together. They attended the same school. Family, weddings, going with each other. Where did they get these accusations, what, to destroy families?"

Yesterday, it should be noted, the Shin Bet allowed the publication that earlier this week it had arrested the youths from Hadera on suspicion of attacking Arab youths on nationalist grounds. The three were remanded in custody until Sunday. The arrest of an IDF soldier who was arrested with the two brothers was appealed by Honenu lawyer Assaf Gonen. At noon, the President of the Haifa District Court, Judge Dr. Ron Shapira, will hear it.

Gonen added: "We are very sorry that the Israel Police and Shin Bet choose to take a soldier in regular service and prevent him from meeting with an attorney in a relatively minor case, in a single incident that allegedly took place more than a month ago. It is still unclear what the nature of the incident is and I am sure that the truth will come out. We will do everything in order to preserve all the rights of the soldier." The soldier's family said: "It's a shame that this is how a soldier is treated in the State of Israel."
