Krailling – Frank Spöttel doesn't let up. With a fifth place at the International German Championship of the windsurfing class Raceboard and winning the German Masters, the Kraillinger has once again proven his top form.
"This means that I am well prepared for the World Championships, which will take place this year in mid-June in northern Germany at the Steinhuder Meer," explains Frank Spöttel.
This time, the national balance of power was surfed out in the holiday resort of Prien am Chiemsee. The organizer was the Regattasurfclub Chiemsee with regatta director Alfred Dillmann and his many helpers, who took care of the participants perfectly on the water as well as on land. Just in time for the three-day regatta, Peter had an insight and with the predicted easterly wind, the temperatures rose day by day. "On the first day of the regatta it was still very fresh and a thick wetsuit was announced, but a 4th and a 5th place overall was a good start to the championship," says Spöttel.
Although wind was announced, strong early morning fog brought a lull in the morning. Around noon, however, similar to Lake Garda, a dark line came across the lake, which brought good wind with gliding conditions. Three races in a row gave the Würmtaler places 5/6/5.
Spöttel then rounded off the competition day with a third place. With only one race remaining on the final day, he confidently secured the title of "German Master" ahead of his North German competitors Hubertus Tesdorpf (Oldesloe) and Bernd Neumann (Hamburg). International German Overall Champion was Robin Rockenbauch from Bostalsee ahead of locals Stephan Hecker and Felix Huber.
The best lady was the only 16-year-old Amelie Huber from Bernau.
