The government has presented a bill on "value sharing", a transposition of an agreement between unions and employers.

Elisabeth Borne wished Wednesday, by visiting near Paris a company with a value-sharing system, "let the social partners "take control" on wages and everything related to life at work. The government presented to the Council of Ministers a draft law on "value sharing", a "faithful" transposition of an agreement between unions and employers to extend companies' profit-sharing schemes to more employees.

This bill illustrates what we want to do with the social partners, that is to say let them take control of the issues of concern expressed by employees, "said the Prime Minister to the press. Elisabeth Borne cited wages, the prevention of occupational wear and tear, the employment of seniors, and career paths, committing again, in the event of agreements between unions and employers, to "transcribe them into law".

On the basis" of the exchanges she had at Matignon this week with employers' organizations and the previous week with trade unions, the head of government hoped that the social partners could "define a social agenda and build the new Pact of Life at Work", which Emmanuel Macron would like to see completed by the end of the year.

During their talks with Elisabeth Borne, the unions reiterated their firm opposition to the pension reform and set out a range of demands, but the path of dialogue promises to be steep while they believe they have been "betrayed". The employers' organisations have announced the post-pension reform issues on which they were willing to negotiate, particularly the employment of seniors. The Prime Minister then said she was again ready to "let the social dialogue take place fully", expressing the hope that a "multilateral" with employers and unions could be organised soon.
