A Japanese ice cream brand called Cellato has created the most expensive ice cream in the world. "Japanese ice cream brand Cellato set out to earn the eye-catching title of Guinness World Records, creating a very special dessert made with rare ingredients that sent its price through the roof," Guinness World Records said in a blog post.
The reason for the price is the ingredients, highlighting the rare white truffle grown in Alba, Italy, with a price of U$S 15,192 per kg. Other special ingredients include Parmigiano Reggiano and sake.
Among the ingredients is white truffle, Parmigiano Reggiano and sake (Cellato).
Making the most expensive ice cream, called Byakuya, wasn't Cellato's only goal. They wanted to fuse European and Japanese ingredients in the form of ice cream.
To do this, Cellato hired Tadayoshi Yamada, the head chef of RiVi, a restaurant in Osaka known for its imaginative fusion cuisine.
A delicious taste
Those who have tried it have said that ice cream is certainly something to highlight. According to the Cellato staff who participated in the tasting session, it is rich in flavor and texture.
The reason for the price is the ingredients (Cellato).
They said the robust fragrance of the white truffle fills the mouth and nose, followed by complex, fruity flavors of Parmigiano Reggiano. Sake lees complete the glorious taste experience, Guinness said.

"It took us over a year and a half to develop it, with a lot of trial and error to get the taste right. Achieving a Guinness World Records title made all the effort worthwhile," said a Cellato representative.
Looking ahead, Cellato is looking to launch more products with other combinations using the best ingredients such as champagne and caviar.
