Weather trends for the long weekend clear - but expert calls an uncertainty

2023-05-24T14:32:05.215Z

Highlights: Munich and the region are facing an early summer Whitsun weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday should - as of now - bring plenty of sun and temperatures of just over 20 degrees. Whit Monday also promises plenty of sunshine and temperatures "above 20 degrees" But uncertainty is still greatest here - many weather models then also see clouds and even precipitation. The first 25 degrees of the year attracted many ice cream eaters to the cafes in Munich last weekend, but now it seems summer is on its way.

The Pentecost weekend is just around the corner, and many are asking themselves the question: What will the weather actually be like? As it seems, sun worshippers can rejoice.

Munich - The first summer day of the year, strong thunderstorms, then rain again - and now? The weather in Munich and the region had a lot to offer in the past few days. However, the eternal ups and downs of spring now seem to be coming to an end. On Wednesday, 24 May, the sky over the Isar metropolis will initially be cloudy and grey, and the temperatures are not necessarily reminiscent of the first foretaste of summer last weekend, when the first 25 degrees of the year attracted many ice cream eaters to the cafes. But will the summer really make the final breakthrough in the coming days?

Weather dream for Munich and the region: Expert sets his sights on the Whitsun weekend

"A lot of sunshine over Pentecost," explains Dominik Jung, weather expert at wetter.net in his latest forecast. Pentecost Saturday, Pentecost Sunday will probably be "friendly" in large parts, Jung continued. Whit Monday also promises plenty of sunshine and temperatures "above 20 degrees", according to the expert, who also explains that the uncertainty is still greatest here - many weather models then also see clouds and even precipitation.

And indeed: Munich and the region can expect a sunny, long Pentecost weekend. Already on Thursday, according to wetteronline, the temperatures in the state capital rise to almost 22 degrees - the prelude to a sunny phase.

Weather at the weekend: Warm sunny days, cool nights

Friday, Saturday and Sunday should - as of now - bring plenty of sun and temperatures of just over 20 degrees. However, due to the starry nights that the weekend is supposed to bring, the nights will probably be quite fresh. As the weather portal further predicts, lows of just eight degrees are expected. So if you want to spend a long early summer evening on the Isar or in the beer garden, you should definitely pack something to pull over - then nothing stands in the way of a sunny weekend.
