After their spectacular incursion into Russia's Belgorod region, the Svoboda Rossii ("Freedom of Russia") legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps (KDR) proudly posed in front of the press on Wednesday around a BTR armored vehicle rescued from the enemy. These two armed groups, formed a year ago with the stated objective of liberating Ukraine and then overthrowing Vladimir Putin's regime, say they acted on their own initiative. During their press conference, held at a military base near the border with Russia, Denis Kapustin, the ultranationalist and white supremacist leader of the KDR militia, evaded insistent questions about his ties to Ukrainian military intelligence. "What is certain," he smiles, "is that we received a lot of encouragement.
