Rescuers describe a violent inferno. A fire broke out on the ground floor of a residential residence in the Buers district, Villeurbanne, shortly before one o'clock in the morning Thursday, according to information from LyonMag, confirmed to Le Figaro. A man, residing in the souplex apartment where the fire started, died.
Eight occupants of the building located at 32 avenue Michel Dupeuble are also injured, after being poisoned by the fumes. They were taken care of by emergency services in a state of relative emergency and taken to hospital. Their lives are not in danger.
Some 80 firefighters and 31 vehicles were deployed to overcome the flames. The disaster was contained around 2:20 a.m. An investigation has been launched to establish the origin of the fire.
