The Plaza de Mayo was collapsing little by little, filling with K militants waiting for Cristina Kirchner, while the sky was covered with increasingly gray clouds. The act of the vice president was taking color and heat, but the concern in the Casa Rosada was another: to gather all the ministers of the Cabinet of Alberto Fernández, side by side, in a show of institutional unity.
The family photo to make up the inmates, however, exhibited, at first glance, several political details: many long faces, two fouls and even a possible presidential formula of two ministers who, coincidentally, occupied the center of the image and were the only ones who laughed at the time of posing.
(Almost) perfect attendance
Fernandez managed to gather in the photo of the esplanade of Balcarce 50 to 13 of his 15 ministers: there were two weight faults. One was Security Minister Anibal Fernandez, who later appeared in the Buenos Aires Tedeum but failed to arrive in time to La Rosada to pose with the rest of the Cabinet. "I had a problem at work," he justified himself later, when giving an interview on Radio 10, about his absence also at the Tedeum.
Aníbal Fernández was one of Alberto's officials who strained the internal with Kirchnerism in the previous act, to which the head of state was not invited. "I never played against a Peronist president, as other comrades have played, they played against Alberto, they made his life impossible during all these times and they ruined many public policies," he said, pointing to La Cámpora.
After that controversy and his absence in the photo of the Cabinet, the Minister of Security will be in the square. "It is an act that allows me to celebrate too, it is 20 years since Néstor Kirchner took office as Minister of the Interior. It fills me with pride," he said.
The other absent in the photo was the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, who is traveling, participating in the Assembly of the World Health Organization, which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland.
Long faces and crossed arms
The majority of Alberto Fernández's Cabinet exhibited serious faces and posed with their arms crossed in the image that circulated. From left to right were: Juan Cabandié (Environment); Gabriel Katopodis (Public Works); Kelly Olmos (Work); Santiago Cafiero (Foreign Ministry); Agustín Rossi (Chief of Staff, who was placed next to Alberto Fernández, who at his side had Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro.
Then Sergio Massa (Economics); Victoria Tolosa Paz (Social Development); Jorge Taiana (Defense); Tristan Bauer (Culture); Diego Giuliano (Transport); Martín Soria (Justice); Santiago Maggioti (Territorial Development); and Julio Vitobello.
The note of color was given by Gabriela Cerruti, with a furious fuchsia ensemble and white shirt, which she cut with the monochromatic outfit of the rest of the ministers, who opted for darker tones.
Presidential ticket in the center?
Others who clashed with the climate of the image were "Wado" De Pedro and Massa, precisely two of the presidential candidates of the Frente de Todos, who stood in the center of the image and were smiling, almost tempted.
One seeks to define the official candidate through primaries, the other reneges against them and asks to be anointed as the only candidate. Thus, they "stopped" them together and next to Alberto Fernández, who to his right placed Agustín Rossi, his cabinet chief, who is also launched on Monday.
