Discovering Cartier's new pieces on Wednesday, and in view of the announced theme "The journey restarted", we watch for permanence in these ornaments staged by the architect Patricia Urquiola, first in Lucca at the Villa Reale di Marlia (former home of Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, sister of Napoleon), then in the evening in Florence during a parade. What is the sign of the style of the house? First there is an elegant opulence, rarely rowdy, served by a construction, flexibility and manufacture, always virtuoso. They strike in particular on the Claustra breastplate (see page 29) in platinum with graphic and light lines that guide the eye towards a diamond of more than four carats, kite cut. The same impression of quiet strength emerges from the Pandjara necklace, which revisits the motifs dear to Louis Cartierinspired by the arts of Islam, composed around a brown diamond dictating the geometry of the rest. And then, Cartier, they are also associations of colors...
