Armed police officers arrested a man on Thursday after a vehicle crashed into the gates of 10 Downing Street, the London residence of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, according to the Metropolitan Police of the British capital.
"[He is] a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal harm and dangerous driving," he said in a message posted on Twitter. "There are no reports of any injuries," he added.

Images posted on social media showed a car crashed into the gates of the government residence, surrounded by emergency vehicles. It is not yet known if it was intentional.
Access to this street, where other members of the British Government also live, is restricted to the public and the bars are protected at all times by armed police officers.
