They blew up ticket and cigarette vending machines – with success: the police found 50,000 euros in the case of the seven suspects.
Munich – Dented metal, torn cables, destroyed plastic: when they came, all that remained was an image of devastation. In February and March, station bombers blew up several ticket and cigarette vending machines in the east of Munich in order to get to the cash boxes inside. It has long been suspected that there is a connection between the crimes. Now the Munich police headquarters has taken action against a gang of teenagers and young adults.
Around 50,000 euros generated: Munich criminal police put suspects
The members, who are between 17 and 20 years old, are accused of destroying vending machines in Heimstetten, Haar, Gronsdorf and Dornach (municipality of Aschheim). They were charged with "causing explosive explosions and gang theft."
How the criminal investigation department specifically came to the seven suspects, leaves the presidium open on tz request. Only this much: There had been "intensive investigative work". Search warrants were obtained against the young men in close consultation with the Munich I public prosecutor's office, which were implemented last Tuesday.
The action was a direct hit: On the one hand, all seven suspects were in the apartments in the east of the state capital. On the other hand, in addition to electronic storage media, the officers were also able to secure cutting weapons, crime clothing and large cash holdings. According to the police, the amount of loot amounts to an amount in the mid-five-digit range. In other words, the gang has bombed around 50,000 euros in the Munich area!
Because of theft and bodily injury: The suspects are known to the police
However, the members do not go behind bars: "After the completion of the necessary police measures, the suspects were released," says the presidium. There, the young men are already well known and in some cases several times. Their previous offenses include theft, bodily injury and violations of the Narcotics Act. As station bombers, the young men were mainly active at night and in the early morning hours. The explosions were so violent that they were heard beyond the local borders.
