Where will there be celebrations this coming weekend? Will the German football champions present themselves to their fans on Borsigplatz in Dortmund or on Marienplatz again? In any case, the city of Munich is already preparing for a championship celebration.
They have not had to rely on the principle of hope in Munich in the title race in the Bundesliga for a long time. This year it's that time again: FC Bayern is dependent on the help of FSV Mainz 05, who will play in Dortmund on Saturday to displace BVB from the top of the table. If this happens, the city of Munich is prepared.
City of Munich prepares for Bayern championship celebration
In the event of such a football miracle (FC Bayern would have to win at 1st FC Cologne at the same time), the title celebration of the champions of Bayern will take place next Sunday on Marienplatz. It may not be done alone - but in case of doubt together with the club's footballers.
FCB Women's match will be broadcast live at Marienplatz
They also have the opportunity to become champions of the Bundesliga on the last matchday. On Sunday, the FCB women will play against Turbine Potsdam, the match will be broadcast live via public viewing at Marienplatz on Marienplatz. The FCB women's footballers are currently top of the table, so they have the title win in their own hands.

If one or two FC Bayern teams become German champions, there will be a reception with Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) in the large meeting room of the town hall. Afterwards, the teams - or the team - celebrate on the town hall balcony with the fans on Marienplatz.
Barriers around the town hall are being prepared
For visitors to the city centre, the following will therefore apply on Sunday, 28 May: Access barriers will be prepared at all entrances to Marienplatz within a radius of up to 300 metres around the town hall. These will be put into effect depending on the number of visitors. According to a statement from the city, a ban on glass and pyrotechnics will apply to the entire event area from 11 a.m. on Sunday, and bicycles and e-scooters may not be carried.

Parked bicycles will be removed from Marienplatz
Cyclists in particular have to be careful: bicycles and e-scooters that have been parked at Marienplatz will be removed. In addition, there will be bag checks at the entrances, so it is best not to carry large bags and backpacks in the first place. And: As soon as Marienplatz is full, no more subways will stop at the stop. S-Bahn trains do not run anyway due to the closure of the main line on the Whitsun weekend.
