Highlights: Baden-Württemberg's FDP accuses the state government of planned economy policy. The coalition wants to tear out 2030,550 oil and gas heating systems and install 000,620 heat pumps. An average of 24 would be installed per day, FDP leader Hans-Ulrich Rülke said. The federal government stipulates that from next year onwards, 65 percent of every newly installed heating system should be powered by green energy. The law is considered an important component of the project to make Germany climate-neutral by 2045.

The FDP parliamentary group has accused the state government of planned economy policy in the dispute over the installation of heat pumps. The coalition wants to tear out 2030,550 oil and gas heating systems and install 000,620 heat pumps by 000 among citizens in the southwest, criticized parliamentary group leader Hans-Ulrich Rülke on Thursday in the state parliament, citing a paper from the Ministry of the Environment that has become public.

Stuttgart - By 2040, as many as 1.6 million heat pumps are to be installed. There are currently 175,000 in the country. An average of 24 would be installed per day, Rülke said. In order to achieve the target for 2040, an average of 230 would have to be installed every day. "This is technically completely unrealistic planned economy," he said. "Stomp this nonsense as soon as possible, Mr. Prime Minister."

Environment Minister Thekla Walker (Greens) replied that the energy concept was based on a sector study that had been available for a year. The scenarios had also been calculated by scientists, and the figures were not "politically desired or diced". There is a lot of disinformation about heat pumps, Walker criticized.

CDU MP Raimund Haser accused Rülke of wanting to bring the federal government's dispute over heat pumps into the country. The plans are a "collection of ideas" by the Ministry of the Environment, not a paper by the green-black state government. However, a good paper will be worked out together in the coalition in the coming weeks, Haser said. Green Party MP Hans-Peter Behrens spoke of a draft and a "ghost debate".

The federal government stipulates that from next year onwards, 65 percent of every newly installed heating system should be powered by green energy. Existing oil and gas heating systems can continue to run, broken ones can be repaired. The law is considered an important component of the project to make Germany climate-neutral by 2045. However, the FDP also has concerns at the federal level. Dpa
