Everything is getting more expensive – even the ingredients for a schnitzel. A restaurateur from Vienna complains about the inflation, because he earns only one euro on a schnitzel. What's the truth of the host's bill?

Schellhorn calculates 18 euros per schnitzel for employee costs alone, reports the Kronen Zeitung. In addition, there would be nine euros cost of goods. And then, of course, you need at least two eggs for breading. Anyone "who has ever breaded themselves" knows this, says the innkeeper. If you were to make ten schnitzels, it might be only eight eggs. On Twitter, he then reaps plenty of ridicule for his ingredient bill.
Viennese veal schnitzel: Nobody talks about the quality – everyone talks about the price
The landlord simply can't believe that there is more talk about the price than about the quality of the purchase, he complains in the Kronen Zeitung. "Everywhere it's all about what's cheapest." He himself makes only one euro profit with his bill. At the same time, the price increases in the industry are "blatant". Everything has increased by an average of 15 percent, from lemon to eggs, clarified butter to veal. After all, he could not pass on the price increases, which also affect energy, rent and personnel, one-to-one to customers.
At the TV station Puls24, Schellhorn points out that three people alone are working on a schnitzel. After all, such a schnitzel has to be breaded, pounded and fried, another employee brings it to the guest and later the plate has to be washed by a third party.
Veal schnitzel: vegetarian cooking is cheaper
The innkeeper is annoyed by the reaction of his compatriots. And opens the exchange of blows: "At the next funeral or birthday, the guests should be entertained in the gas station, if it is cheaper there," Schellhorn rages. Meanwhile, he advises his fellow chefs to cook vegetarian. Instead of schnitzel, they should serve stuffed peppers. This is significantly cheaper to produce.
