Although the weather is anything but ideal, the outdoor and beach baths in the district are gradually opening. However, the water is only warm in Gauting, although there is less heating than in previous years.
County – Bathing weather does not prevail at all these days. But the bathing season is just around the corner – and in some places it has even begun, at least officially. The Tutzinger Südbad, for example, has been open since 1 May, but managing director Max Hippius has so far only observed a few walkers due to the weather. But when the first swimmers and sun worshippers appear, they can look forward to a new bar in the pool, Hippius reports when asked. However, they will not notice much of the new technology in the sales area, which makes the work of the staff easier. Hippius emphasizes on the subject: "We are always looking for staff, like all other catering establishments."
"Due to the tense personnel situation in the supervisory area of the seaside resort", the Starnberg lido had postponed the start of the season from May 1 to last Monday (we reported). For the same reason, the opening hours of the swimming pool have been restricted since February. When asked, Marie Babst from the city's press office reports that it is exclusively a case of illness and that the positions are all filled. Incidentally, the latter can also be heard from the Pöckingen indoor swimming pool, for which a third lifeguard had been sought for a long time in recent years.
In the Feldafingen lido, which is a listed building, new stairs now lead into the water. In August, Lake Starnberg reaches a pleasant 22 degrees, and not only there. A temperature that this year also the guests of the Gauting summer pool, who were previously able to splash around at 27 degrees, will have to get used to. Because of the high energy prices, the municipality is cutting back. "It's a balancing act to keep the temperature bearable. But every degree is hard cash," says Christian Ruhdorfer, who is responsible for the technology in the bathroom. He reports on several renewals, which the guest will hardly notice from Friday, May 26th. In the hot water pool, for example, stainless steel inserts were installed because joints in the tiles had been washed out over time. There are new fittings in the showers, something has been repaired in the electrical control cabinet.
What the guests would quickly notice: if no one sits at the entrance and the bathroom therefore has to stay. "We are still looking for cashiers," says Ruhdorfer. According to Ruhdorfer, there are enough lifeguards and lifeguards provided by a personnel service provider for Gauting. But there is a certain amount of uncertainty, as the community worker suggests. "We don't know what it will look like next year."
A swim in the lakes is currently only something for the hardy: Lake Starnberg has just 14.9 degrees, Lake Ammersee 14.5, Lake Pilsen 15.9. The warmest is the Wörthsee with 16.5 degrees.
