The anticipation paid off: all the announcements from Playstation Showcase - voila! Gaming Channel

Last night between Wednesday and Thursday, at 23:00, Sony held the Showcase event where it revealed quite a few new games that will reach PlayStation 5 and PS VR 2 players in the future. Alongside huge announcements such as a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 or Spider-Man 2, we got a show of strength and an initial glimpse of a variety of online games from Sony's exclusive developers acquired over the past year. Some even went out to the computer and Xbox. So what did we have?

$Fairgame

The broadcast opens with a cinematic trailer for a new exclusive multiplayer game from Haven Studios, the new developer under the direction of Jade Raymond. Raymond is a former executive producer at Ubisoft and was responsible for the Assassin's Creed and Watchdog series. It will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC, and more details including a launch date will be revealed later.

Helldiver 2

The popular 2015 co-op game, in which you play soldiers in an intergalactic warrior unit, gets a sequel that features full third-person gameplay that will put you at the center of the action. Will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Immortals of Avenum

A new title from EA that was unveiled earlier this year and features a shooter, only instead of weapons it includes magic and lots of hand animation. It will be released on July 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Ghostrunner 2

505 Games' hit from three years ago gets a sequel where you'll return to playing Cyberninja and experience fast, uninhibited action. Will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\S and PC during 2023.

Phantom Blade Zero

A new game and spiritual continuation of the Spirtual Rebirth series, a series of games never released outside of China. The game was built with the Enrile 5 engine and presents action-hack-and-slash with lots of style and kung fu. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Sword of the Sea

Giant Squid, which brought us exemplary indie games like Journey, Abzû or Pathless, comes up with a new title that is more ambitious than anything it has brought to date. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC.

The Talos Principle II

It's been 7 years since the sequel to Croteam's puzzle game was first announced, and it was revealed as a complete surprise during the broadcast. The game will offer a unique first-person experience with lots of philosophical aspects where you will solve environmental puzzles and think about your existence. Will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\S and PC during 2023.

Neva

A new indie from the creators who brought us Gris presents a beautiful animated trailer. The plot will focus on a young woman and the special bond she will form with a wolf cub that has become an orphan. The creators promise action, platform, and of course moments that will make you shed a tear of excitement. It will be released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean

A role-playing game that focuses on cats, and this time they are pirates. Because if Claw (Captain Hook for the nostalgic among you) worked, then why not?

Foamasters

A new exclusive multiplayer from Square Enix that draws a lot of inspiration from Nintendo's Splatoon, and presents a kid-friendly shooter that doesn't involve a lot of shooting. Mostly soap bubbles and foam. Will be released for PlayStation 4 and 5.

The Plucky Squire

Devolver Digital's magical indie game unveiled earlier this year for PC will also arrive onthe PlayStation 5 console during 2023.

Teardown

Another game that was available on the computer and received critical acclaim due to its detailed and up-to-date destructive system. Don't be fooled by the simple Minecraft graphics. The game posed a challenge for even the toughest computers, and the port for consoles looked impressive. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\S later this year.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater + Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

"Kept You Waitin', huh?" yes Snake!!! Too long!!! The third title in the Metal Gear Solid series finally gets the remake after too many reports and rumors circulating online. Konami claims that this is a faithful remake to the original, and let's just hope that they have learned their lesson since Metal Gear Survive and that they don't mess too much with Hideo Kojima's original vision. Will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\S and PC. There is no launch date yet, but the retro collection of the first three Solid Gear Metal games will be released this fall for PlayStation 5.

Towers of Aghasba

A new action-adventure game in a fantasy world where you'll have to help rebuild the planet's ecosystem in addition to civilization. Will combine elements of construction, survival and exploration of the world. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC during 2024.

Final Fantasy XVI

A new trailer that gives us another glimpse into Final Fantasy 16 and emphasizes the plot of the game and the hero Clive Rosefield. Will be released for PlayStation 5 on June 22.

Alan wake 2

The Remedy sequel finally gets a release date and a trailer that reveals that this time we will not only play the writer, but also a new character: an agent named Saga Anderson, who will help Ellen during the new horror adventure. It will be released on October 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\S and PC.

Assassin's Creed Mirage

The new main title in the Assassin's Creed series has promised to return to its origins, and it looks like Ubisoft is definitely going to deliver. Quite a few mechanics and elements that made the series familiar return here, and according to the trailer, it seems that Ubisoft is abandoning the direction it drew from The Witcher games in recent years, and intends to put the emphasis on stealth again. It will be released on October 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Revenant Hill

A new indie revealed with a beautiful animated trailer, and of course, deals with a cat. This time in the 20s. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink

The Japanese role-playing game series, best known as browser and mobile games, is getting a new title for consoles. Will be released for PlayStation 4 and 5 during winter 2023.

Street Fighter 6

A new trailer in the iconic fighting game series emphasizes the character we will create ourselves in story mode. It will be released next week on June 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Ultros

A new psychedelic platformer with Roguelake elements. Will be released for PlayStation 4 and 5 and PC in 2024.

Tower of Fantasy

The action-role-playing multiplayer game released in 2021 is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5 and looks like a successor to Genshin Impact. Will be released this summer.

Dragon's Dogma II

A sequel to Capcom's action-role-role-playing series. The original game was released in 2012 and received critical acclaim. The sequel will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Five Nights at Freddy's Help Wanted 2

A short teaser trailer shows us a sequel to the 2019 virtual reality title. Will be released for PS VR 2 in 2023.

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode

A virtual reality mode for the recently released Resident Evil 4 remake is currently in development. Will be released for PS VR 2 and PC.

Arizona Sunshine II

A sequel to the virtual reality game in a zombie apocalypse that gave us a variety of options to abuse the Walking Dead. Will be released later this year for PS VR 2 and PC.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad

The Crossfire military shooter series is coming to virtual reality in a new title. Will be released for PS VR 2 on July 4, 2023.

Synapse

A title unveiled at Sony's State of Play last February. The creators of Far Cry VR: Dive into Insanity show us gameplay with a combination of weapons and telekinetic capabilities. Will be released for PS VR 2.

Beat Saber

The popular rhythm game is already available for PS VR 2 with a new pack of songs from Queen.

Marathon

Another new multiplayer title from Sony, this time from Bungie, which was also acquired last year. The game will feature PVP (Player-vs-Player) elements. The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and will include Cross Play at launch.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape

Speaking of Bungie: The final installment in Destiny's Light & Darkness saga will be released on August 22.

Concord

Another new online game from one of the exclusives Sony acquired this year: Firewalk Studios. Will feature first-person action and PVP elements. Will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC during 2024. More details will be revealed later.

Spider-Man 2

Sony concluded the ceremony with one of its biggest exclusives for 2023: Spider-Man 2. The new trailer introduces us to the character of Craven the Hunter, and from there directly a gameplay glimpse of Spider-Man in the black suit in the most classic design there is. The web-spinning system has been upgraded and players will be able to glide through the air, Peter's battles will become more aggressive when under the influence of the symbiote, and we even predicted how some of the character switching system will work in the game. We haven't received an exact date yet, but Sony continues to promisethe fall period of 2023. Will be released for PlayStation 4 and 5.
