Villa del Parque: how is the new promenade with bars and restaurants of the former shopping of the neighborhood

Highlights: In December of last year, in the center of Villa del Parque, on Cuenca Street, the former shopping mall of the neighborhood was transformed into Del Parque Sustentoutlet. For two weeks, on the second floor of that building works Yapa, a promenade of bars and restaurants. In total there are 7 new premises -mostly intended for that public- of which six are already operating. Only the opening of the Tostado chain that will offer salads, sandwiches and cafeteria is pending.

In December of last year, in the center of Villa del Parque, on Cuenca Street, the former shopping mall of the neighborhood was transformed into Del Parque Sustentoutlet. For two weeks, on the second floor of that building works Yapa, a promenade of bars and restaurants with tempting proposals to enjoy at all times.

The diversity of options offered by the space makes it an ideal destination for a working breakfast as a night meeting with friends since it opens every day from 10 in the morning until midnight in the week and until 2 am on weekends. It also has outdoor space: a large terrace overlooking the Villa del Parque station.

The developers understood that what was most scarce in the area were proposals for the youngest. In total there are 7 new premises -mostly intended for that public- of which six are already operating. Only the opening of the Tostado chain that will offer salads, sandwiches and cafeteria is pending.

The Napoletana-style pizza, so fashionable in recent years, has its own space in Yapa. With a wood-fired oven brought from Naples and raw materials of excellence: Fior di latte mozzarella and Italian tomato from Puglia, it offers varied pizzas with aerated edges, light and hydrated dough -fermented for 48 hours-, which characterizes this type of pizza.

They usually offer a special pizzas of the month such as the Pomodorini with roasted tomatoes ($ 2,400) another of the specials is the Cosa nostra, with arugula and gorgonzola for $ 2,400 or Fuccino, with carrot cream, ricotta and basil. Among the classics they offer the Margherita at $ 2,000. For dessert, Nutella pizza, tiramisu, cannoli and sfogliatella.

The Birrería

A successful combination in recent years is offered by breweries that in addition to their craft beer serve hamburgers.

Therefore, in a space that seeks to attract the younger audience there could not not be an offer like this. This is the only place that remained from the previous shopping and has the terrace overlooking the Villa del Parque station. It is usually crowded so to go on the weekend it is advisable to book.

The burgers are served single or double and come with fries. The most requested are the double bacon & cheese ($2,500) and the double cheddar for $2,500. In addition, tapas options such as papas bravas or tequeños are very popular. They also have vegan and vegetarian options. Not everything is beer, they also offer gin and cider pulled.

Bartho is the right destination for cocktail lovers. There, in a huge bar with a privileged view of the neighborhood, they serve signature drinks and mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails). Signature drinks range from $ 1,700 to $ 2,000. Within that menu there are options such as the so-called Murga that is prepared with mango vodka, sour mix, passion fruit pulp and orange and peach juice.

Also the one that bears the name of the place, which carries vanilla Absolut, green apple puree, cinnamon syrup, lime juice, pineapple pulp. Lovers of classics can enjoy a gin and tonic for $ 1,100 or an old fashioned for $ 1,400.

They have different schedules to the rest of the premises because it only works at night. They are open from Sunday to Wednesday from 17 to 0. Thursday to Saturday from 18 to 2.

The healthy option is presented by the hand of Let It V. This firm, which already has 5 other branches, is a gourmet restaurant with a 100% plant based (vegan) and gluten-free proposal.

They seek to demolish myths around this type of cuisine by offering a rich and healthy menu at the same time. The brand sources organic and pesticide-free produce from independent producers who work the land and seek sugar-free and artisanal alternatives, where possible.

There are pokes and salads. Among them the avocado poke based on shari rice, spiced mushrooms, glazed carrot, avocado and fried sweet potato for $ 2,600. Another option is Thai salad with rice noodles, leafy greens, carrot, cucumber, fried tofu, peanuts and spicy sauce. for $ 2,850.

The sushi is the star and they are served in 8 pieces. Some of the options are the Lennon (with tempura vegetables, cashew cheese topped with marinated shitakes and fresh lime wedges for $ 2,800) and the Maki Furai (with grilled portobellos, avocado, verdeo and vegadelphia, battered in panko and finished with teriyak sauce for $ 2,850).

They also serve as a main course, stir-fries and gnocchi. The pastry shop stands out with options such as the Matilda Cake for $ 1,700 or the 70% brownie. It's a wet square based on 70% chocolate, sweet potato, neutral coconut oil, Belgian chocolate chips, salt flakes and nuts for $1,100. To accompany these options there is a specialty cafeteria.

This hamburger restaurant debuts in Yapa, with its first and only branch. In their menu they have 8 versions of hamburgers in single or double format.

The most requested burgers are the double Rockwell composed of double beef medallion, grilled onions, danbo cheese, cheddar and rockwell sauce ($ 1,700) and the special luxury, a sandwich of chopped steak eye, cheddar sauce and grilled onion ($ 1,800). To accompany there are chips, nuggets or onion rings.

This place at noon is filled with students and teenagers who queue to get their ice cream. What they ask for most are the cones that are served with two scoops of ice cream, wafer and chocolate coin ($1,250).

You can also order a cup that brings the same but is cheaper ($ 1,150). In addition to the classics such as dulce de leche, chocolates and fruit trees there are more sophisticated ice cream flavors such as stracciatella, key lime pie or vanilla with pecan nuts. It can also be carried by weight, the kilo is worth $ 4,000.
