After being the only presidential candidate of the Frente de Todos who was not at the event for the 20th anniversary of the assumption of Néstor Kirchner in the Plaza de Mayo, the ambassador to Brazil Daniel Scioli said that he will compete "equally" in the PASO although Vice President Cristina Kirchner decides to impose a single candidate in the Frente de Todos.
When asked during an interview with TN if he will present himself as a presidential candidate in case the former president decides that the ruling party should present a single list, he said: "Yes, I am going the same, because I am convinced."

It would be hypocritical not to refer to the fact that there are obviously internal differences, nuances, different styles and what better way than to settle it democratically," he argued.
Along these lines, the former Buenos Aires governor retorted: "I do not think that the hypothesis occurs that they want to go down the path of a single candidate or impose a formula. The only candidate here is the people, the people."
Regarding whether he feels the candidate of Cristina Kirchner, he responded bluntly: "I feel the candidate of the workers, of the middle class, of those who undertake, of those who produce."

"It seems to me that the best thing that can happen to our political space is not to depend on the decision of any leader but to submit to the popular will as it corresponds and that the people choose what they consider the best," he said in statements to TN.
For Scioli, the PASO will serve to strengthen the winning candidate. "To face the things that I have to face towards the future of Argentina I have to have all the political legitimacy and support with my government program to take Argentina forward. This is neither left nor right, it is going forward," he insisted.
In another part of the interview, the ambassador explained the reasons why he was not present at the Plaza de Mayo: "I was not there because I had this enormous responsibility here in Brasilia in a meeting with Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, to move forward with this agreement, very important things were signed for Argentina."
"Cristina's secretary, Mariano, called me to invite me especially," said the presidential candidate, who indicated that he had anticipated to the Vice President that he would not be able to be present at the activity.
