Pfäffikon – Whether it's epic rock anthems, emotional pop ballads or pop numbers to sing along to – a lot of work always goes into composing a song until it is musically coherent and suitable for radio. Beatrice Egli (34) also puts a lot of time and effort into her hit songs - and is not afraid to make one or two finishing touches at the very last minute, as she reveals in the first episode of her new podcast.

"If I have an idea, I want it to be implemented": Beatrice Egli often changes songs at the last minute

On Thursday afternoon (25 May), Beatrice Egli shared her latest project with her fans – the podcast "Egli Extrem", in which she masters various extreme situations with well-known guests and then chats about life and career. For the premiere episode, the "Herzgesteuert" interpreter met with radio presenter Laura Larsson (34) in a wind tunnel. There was no time for a quiet conversation with so much turbulence, but the subsequent interview was all about the careers of the two women.

The first edition of "Egli Extrem" also dealt with Beatrice Egli's pop career - and among other things, the process of creating her songs. "Are you so perfectionist that you say – now it's finished, (...) but could I actually change something about it?", Laura Larsson wants to know from her interlocutor and laughingly the former DSDS winner replies: "Then I'll do it."

Beatrice Egli is a trained hairdresser

Today, Beatrice Egli has become an integral part of the German pop scene. She hosts her own TV show, is on stage at her colleagues' formats and travels all over the country with her songs. The Swiss used her victory at DSDS as a springboard and has more than proven that you can go very far as a casting show winner. What very few people might know, however, is that Beatrice Egli is actually a trained hairdresser.

"Not always for the benefit of the whole team, but yes, it happens," explains Beatrice Egli, "As long as it's not outside, you can change everything." The Swiss-born musician seems to attach great importance to quality in her various musical projects – even though such last-minute changes are certainly associated with a lot of stress. "I want to give my best until the end and if I have an idea, I want to have it implemented," she emphasizes.

"Fantasy world": Beatrice Egli makes hits because he is "unrealistic"

Since her DSDS triumph, Beatrice Egli has remained loyal to the pop scene and is now on the big stages with her catchy songs. There is one thing that inspires her most about the Schlager - that it likes to be "unrealistic". "I wish every day (...) also just this fantasy world. Everything is good, the good wins, I want to believe in the good and I want to sing about it," she explains. For her, her music is her very own "allotment".

With such a great passion for the genre, it is not surprising that Beatrice Egli is a real perfectionist in the studio and often tinkers with her songs until the last minute. To be so closely involved in her musical projects – not every one of her colleagues can claim that. In conversation with IPPEN.
