In March, as part of a preliminary procedure, police officers from the Narcotics and Underground Economy Unit of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Security witnessed transactions related to alleged drug trafficking, in the heart of Nice, in the port district. Drug addicts from the city and neighbouring towns were seen refuelling from two men from the same siblings.
The investigations subsequently made it possible to locate a cache of narcotics in the valley of Magnan, on the heights of the city, at the precise place where one of the two defendants regularly went. On Tuesday, the two brothers were arrested at the exit of their respective homes, located in the center of Nice and in the port district.
The search of the apartments led to the seizure of 2.2 kilos of heroin, 11 grams of cocaine and 18,000 euros in cash. A third individual, present during the search, was also apprehended. In addition, in the cache of the Magnan valley, an additional 100 grams of heroin were discovered as well as 8000 euros in cash. The three men were taken into custody in the aftermath.
