"Bad figures": The waiting list for childcare places in Haar is long. 152 children currently have no place. The search for solutions is ongoing.
Haar – 152 children are on the waiting list for a childcare place starting in September. 97 are waiting for a place in a crèche, 55 children are waiting for one in kindergarten. "Bad figures," Marietta Ernst, education department at the town hall, recently summed up in the municipal council.
One reason for the problem is the shortage of skilled workers, all facilities lack 26 employees, according to the town hall. The sponsors know about the waiting lists, but are reluctant to accept because they do not know where to get the staff from, Ernst explained. If these positions were filled, at least 57 crèche and 42 kindergarten children could find a place. "But there are still 53 children who cannot be accommodated," says Ernst. And this is because there is a lack of space and the corresponding premises. Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) therefore wants to convene a meeting of sponsors this week and also check all municipal properties to see if there is the possibility of "rebuilding something". In the long term, however, he sees no other option than to create one or two new facilities, "we have to talk seriously about that".
There are also problems with all-day classes
Another problem arose with the request of a father who is urgently looking for after-school care, since the all-day class in the Konrad School had not come about. "The second all-day class also narrowly failed at the Jagdfeldschule," Ernst confirmed. She sees the need for action: "We will take care of the problem."
