Memmingen – The African proverb "I am because you are" was the inspiration for the motto of the upcoming 2023/2024 season at the Landestheater Schwaben (LTS) in Memmingen. The new season traditionally starts on 16 September with the Theatre Festival.

Visitors can take a look behind the scenes: The LTS opens the gate of the theatre, the doors of the auditorium and, as part of the theatre tour, the gates to the workshops. In addition, two premieres will kick off the day: at 15 p.m. "EinsLeben! at the Junges Landestheater Schwaben and at 20 p.m. the comedy "Bezahlt wird nicht" in the Großes Haus.

Theatre lovers can look forward to numerous premieres, unusual formats and big names in the new 2023/2024 season. The second division of the LTS, the Young State Theatre Swabia, is also bringing eight productions to the stage at Schweizerberg 8 for the young and young-at-heart audience – four of them completely new. According to director Claudia Hoyer, a third member of the ensemble will strengthen the section for children and young people in the coming season.

If you would like to get a taste of theatre yourself, the Bürgerbühne Schwaben is just the thing for you: In four play clubs, interested parties can become part of a production. New from January is the backstage club - for all those who prefer to act backstage rather than stand on it. Other formats and extras are: Barrier-free theatre, matinée, purple sofa, curtain up! – the theatre podcast and much more.
