Aiwanger: "Bavaria stands for quality tourism" - 47 Bavarian hotels awarded stars

Munich – 47 Bavarian hotels and one inn were awarded stars on Monday (22 May). Hubert Aiwanger, Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs and Tourism, and Angela Inselkammer, President of the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association Dehoga Bayern, presented the awards.

"The right offer in all regions of Bavaria" - Aiwanger awards stars

The hotels and the one inn have all received different numbers of stars. One star was awarded once, two stars twice, 25 times three stars, 19 times four stars and once five stars. Of these, 20 are located in Upper Bavaria, nine in Swabia, seven in Lower Bavaria, five in the Upper Palatinate, four in Middle Franconia, two in Upper Franconia and one in Lower Franconia.

"Travel for All": Awards for museums and youth hostels in Bavaria

Furthermore, Dehoga Bayern awarded 45 providers from the tourism industry in the category "Travel for all". The category includes hotels and youth hostels, but also museums and mountain railways, among others. The award identifies accommodations that are safely suitable for people with walking, hearing, visual impairments or cognitive impairments, Aiwanger explained. The tourism industry is trained for the special requirements of people with disabilities. "Everyone benefits from barrier-free offers in tourism and more comfort, not just our guests," says Aiwanger.
