Strong graduating class at the Anne-Frank-Gymnasium in Erding: 43 of the 109 high school graduates have a one before the decimal point. Four of them are happy about the dream grade of 1.0.

Erding – 109 pupils have taken their Abitur examinations at the Anne-Frank-Gymnasium (AFG) and have completed strenuous, learning-intensive weeks. "It went well. This is very gratifying," said headmistress Regine Hofmann.

The mood during the final sprint was also very good. Yesterday the Abitur grades were announced. Excited excitement, joy, celebratory mood and simply the relief of having made it over went hand in hand on this special day. From April 26 to May 5, the written exams had to be taken. The colloquium took place from 15 to 25 May. Of the 109 young people, 26 graduated from high school with a grade of 1.5 or better and 43 with an average grade of at least 1.9.

It is striking that the one before the decimal point has been occurring more frequently for several years. Hofmann sees one reason for this in the one-to-one rule, as the written and oral performances are weighted equally. This year, too, there were considerable A-cuts. Axel Lemke and Anna Eicher from Erding, Viktoria Scharl from Oberbierbach and Florian Wanderer from Wifling achieved a dream score of 1.0. Maximilian Warthmann and Georgia Woltron, who both live in Erding, also achieved a top result of 1.1.

And how did they experience the trials? It was above all their own pressure that caused tension, said 18-year-old Anna Eicher. It was difficult for her to assess herself correctly. It was "a bit like sitting on hot coals". Now the relief is all the greater – an experience that Eicher shares with some of her fellow high school graduates.

The exam time was "stressful", but no reason to panic, said 17-year-old Axel Lemke. For Maximilian Warthmann (18), the long stages posed a "certain challenge", but everything went quite well.

Georgia Woltron (17) said she had been nervous before, but had "calmed down relatively quickly" in the exam. 18-year-old Viktoria Scharl had a similar experience. "I was very relaxed," said Florian Wanderer (18). In retrospect, he found his peace and quiet after the exams were over, almost a bit frightening.

But everything worked out perfectly. The young man from Wifling wants to study law. Anna Eicher and Georgia Woltron are completing a voluntary social year together at the Erding Clinic because they are studying medicine and would like to get a taste of this professional field beforehand.

For Viktoria Scharl, it has been clear since elementary school that she wanted to become a doctor. She is looking forward to making this dream come true now. "Time has passed quickly," she said, referring to the exam period. Maximilian Warthmann wants to study physics or economics. Axel Lemke would like to take a break for a year. During this sabbatical, he plans to do an internship in Paris at a pharmaceutical company.

But now everyone wants to enjoy their free time extensively. "It's nice to have a break," Georgia Woltron said with a smile. Yesterday, on one of the first summer days of this year, there was a cheerful party atmosphere at the Kronthaler Weiher and later in the Weekend Club. VRONI VOGEL
