Because the British-born singer had to watch as the two nations with which he is particularly attached flopped completely at the Eurovision Song Contest: Germany in last place! England on the penultimate! "She doesn't deserve to be penultimate," explains the pop star in an interview with web.de about the Englishwoman Mae Muller, whom he knows personally. "The same applies to the last place of the German entry of Lord Of The Lost."

He does not explain why he himself is not drawn to the Eurovision Song Contest. But he analyzes at web.de why most big stars give a wide berth to participate. "Looking at Germany, you'll never see a Sarah Connor on the ESC stage," he predicts. "And Elton John or Ed Sheeran will never compete for England either. The danger is far too great. After all, you can be a terrific musician and still lose. That's the price no big star wants to pay."

Before Ross Antony, Thomas Gottschalk and Guildo Horn, among others, had already commented on the new debacle. In any case, the responsible NDR is sticking to the German ESC participation - already on the Monday after the flop there was a demonstrative clear statement. However, they were also surprised by the flop of Lord Of The Lost, as the NDR said: "To be honest, we didn't expect the title to catch on with the ESC audience and the juries. That's why we will now discuss it together and will probably communicate how to proceed in the coming weeks." Maybe more in the Schlager direction, albeit without Ross Antony?
