Geretsried – At the beginning of the week, several artists wrote an open letter to Mayor Michael Müller. In it, as reported, the cultural workers drew attention to the "threatened in its existence" situation of the Kulturbühne Hinterhalt. They also called on the head of the town hall to expand cooperation and to provide regular support for the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association. Now the town hall has commented on the matter.
Open letter on the Geltinger ambush: City Hall expresses itself
The promotion of cultural life in the city area is "an important concern" for the city and the mayor, according to a written statement by press spokesman Thomas Loibl. This would be evidenced by "the numerous and extensive subsidies" that the responsible expert committee has granted to the cultural association "for years and without interruption". However, a distinction must be made between the promotion of culture for an association and the promotion of individual economic actors, Loibl emphasizes.
"Here we are moving very quickly in the area of inadmissible direct economic development, and unfortunately that is exactly what is not possible." Nevertheless, they are interested in coordinating "ideally" with organizers of events that are not organized by the city, for example to avoid scheduling conflicts. KOF
