Together with Carsharing Erding e.V., the municipality of Pastetten is implementing a car-sharing service. The Renault Zoe is to be parked at the town hall.

Pastetten – "Then we're going to write a bit of car-sharing history now," Tobias List said happily. Shortly before that, all Pastetten local councillors had raised their hands to agree to a cooperation with Carsharing Erding e.V.

List as chairman had already presented his association to the Pastetten councils a few weeks ago and had met with broad approval (we reported). At the meeting on Tuesday, the head of the association had once again summarized the offer and presented a selection of three vehicles, which he proposed to the municipality for use. The councillors eventually argued in favour of a second-generation Renault Zoe. This electric car is often used in car sharing and has a good reputation, as it has technically outgrown the phase of teething troubles. There was also a choice of a VW id3, which was considered too expensive, and a VW e-up!, which was ruled out as too small.

According to List, the selected Renault has an electric range of about 360 kilometers and is capable of fast charging. This means that it can be charged to 40 percent of its battery charge in about 80 minutes, even when on the move. In Pastetten, the car gets its parking space at the town hall and has its own 22 kW charging station there.

However, according to Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE), this will cost the municipality another 5000 euros, plus follow-up costs for maintenance. In return, the municipality can save a little on the monthly cost of the car over the next three years. Originally, 872 euros were set for insurance, on-board computers for the sharing system, service and financing. The latter was the thickest chunk at 472 euros. Now the local council and the association have agreed on a variant in which a total of about 400 euros per month remains, the exact amount has yet to be calculated.

The sum results from the fact that the club buys the 20,000 euro car. Compared to financing over three years, this saves 2300 euros. However, the Pastetten local treasury has to transfer the money in advance to the association, because it does not have so much on the high edge. The amount will be offset against the originally planned monthly costs. For the transfer of the large sum, however, a further resolution was necessary, which was approved by all councils.

List wanted to initiate the purchase of the car the very next morning and order the on-board computer – which has a delivery time of six weeks. So the starting signal for car sharing in Pastetten could soon be given.
