The incident allegedly occurred near the village of Litvinovo, less than ten kilometres from the border between Russia and Belarus. "At the moment, we know that the targeted building was damaged by drones," said Governor Mikhail Vedernikov, while assuring that no one had been injured and that an operational team was on site to assess the damage.
While he did not point the finger at Ukraine for the attack by two drones equipped with explosive devices, the incident followed several other similar drone explosions inside Russia's borders, which resulted in the destruction of buildings and the death of residents of these regions. Ukraine has never publicly acknowledged being behind the blasts, but several Ukrainian officials welcomed the news. So far, no official in Kiev has commented on the drone attack in the Pskov Oblate.
According to unconfirmed information published by Baza, a Russian media outlet on Telegram with sources in the secret service, the drones were targeting the Transneft oil pumping station in Pskov.
