As reported, In the night from Saturday (20 May) to Sunday (21 May), a speed camera trailer parked on Kocheler Straße in Bad Heilbrunn was damaged by fire. The fire was reported by a passer-by who became aware of the burning day-to-day speed camera shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. The fire was quickly extinguished by the regional fire brigades, according to the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South. The damage caused to the trailer is estimated by the police at around 150,000 euros.
While still on site, the Criminal Investigation Service of the Weilheim Criminal Police Inspectorate, under the direction of the Munich II Public Prosecutor's Office, took over the investigation. Based on the initial findings, the investigators assume a deliberate arson. The Kommunale Verkehrskontrolle Oberland (KVÜ Oberland) is also offering a reward of 3,000 euros for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
