In Penzberg-Reindl, several telephone connections apparently did not work for weeks. For a 90-year-old, this almost ended badly: he fell and could not call for help by phone.
Penzberg – In the Penzberg district of Reindl, some residents apparently had no landline and Internet connection for several weeks. Allegedly, it is said to have been a major cable damage, as a customer of Telekom has learned. When asked by the local newspaper at the beginning of the week, the company did not comment on the reason for the outage, the extent of the damage and the number of people affected. Suffice it to say that a measurement technician is on the cable, and the fault site is being measured.

Fixed network dead: Deutsche Telekom keeps putting off those affected
The fact that such a failure can have dramatic consequences was reported on Thursday, May 25, by the daughter of a 90-year-old who lives alone on Zibetholzweg in Reindl. He had fallen in his apartment on Tuesday, May 23, but could not call anyone because of the dead line. Fortunately, he was able to draw the attention of a neighbor through a window, who called for help. He was taken to the hospital. Since mid-April, the phone has not worked, according to the daughter. Again and again, she is put off by Telekom.
This week, another woman reported to the local newspaper. She lives with her family in Reindl. At the beginning of May, her phone and internet went down. Her daughter was supposed to take part in an online seminar for her studies – which was not possible. The son had to write a paper for his high school diploma – a difficult thing without the Internet. In October, the Telekom connection had already failed once, at that time for two months. You are always put off, she says.

Landline dead: 90-year-old is well despite the fall
On Thursday evening, however, there was good news. The woman shared that, according to a neighbor, someone was at the distribution box: the phone and Internet are working again. And on Friday, the daughter of the 90-year-old also got in touch: With her father – he is back home after the hospital stay – the phone goes again.
By the way: On Friday afternoon, Deutsche Telekom commented once again when it was able to announce the success story. The cable had to be renewed and reconnected in two places. Unfortunately, that took time.
