Memmingen – From Monday, 29 May, the construction site traffic routing on the A96 in the area of the Memmingen high bridge will be changed, according to the Autobahn Südbayern – Kempten branch.
In the night from Monday, May 29, 2023, to Tuesday, May 30, 2023, traffic in the direction of Lindau will first be moved to the newly constructed bridge side. In the following night from Tuesday, 30 May, to Wednesday, 31 May, traffic in the direction of Munich will also be diverted to the new carriageway.
By shifting traffic to the newly constructed, northern side of the bridge, outstanding work (such as the construction of the so-called bridge caps, construction of the four-metre-high noise barrier along the Munich carriageway and installation of the crash barriers) can be carried out on the southern part, which is necessary for the completion of the project. With the transfer of traffic to the newly constructed, northern side of the bridge, an important milestone in the implementation of the project will be reached. The replacement of the northern part of the Memmingen high bridge (Lindau carriageway), including the four-metre-high noise barrier, has now been completed. Completion of the overall project is scheduled for mid-2024.
