On Sunday night, IDF soldiers thwarted an attempt to plant an IED on the Alon Route (Route 458), near the village of al-Mughayir in the Binyamin Brigade. The IDF said: "The soldiers fired at the suspect, a hit was identified. The forces are working to exonerate the cargo. There are no casualties to our forces."
Al-Mughayir is a hostile village on the Allon Route that has been in focus for a long time, and carries out stone attacks and IEDs against Israeli residents traveling on the road. In recent months, residents of the area have protested against the village, claiming that the IDF is not doing enough to prevent terrorist attacks in the area.

Israel Hayom has learned that due to the great criticism, Brigade Commander Binyamin Eliav Elbaz held several meetings with residents of the area in order to calm them down and clarify that the IDF is using both overt and covert means against the terrorists.
About a week and a half ago, Binyamin Council head Israel Gantz opened an office at the entrance to the village to protest the attacks coming out of the area, which miraculously ended without casualties so far.
