The attack in the Russian region of Belgorod is said to have been committed by a group called the "Legion of Freedom of Russia". In one video, they mock Russian soldiers.
Belgorod – This is "the first video summary of our operation in the Belgorod region," writes a group called the Legion of Freedom of Russia in the short message service Telegram. They are "footage that demonstrates the cowardice and unprofessionalism of Putin's troops."
The video lasts two minutes, is accompanied by driving rock music and initially shows how a military vehicle with a telescopic sight moves along a country road densely lined with trees. Later, aerial photographs, an explosion in a bush, an explosion in a turquoise homestead-like building, and uniformed people fleeing along a dirt road follow. Where exactly the video was made is not verified.
"Legion of Freedom of Russia" scoffs at "Putin's troops" in a video
Some of their equipment is said to have come from Ukrainian stocks via detours - otherwise not much is known about the Legion of Freedom of Russia. The Telegram channel, in which they repeatedly share resistance actions against Russia, is followed by over 48,000 people. A spokesman for the "Legion of Freedom of Russia" had countered Moscow's claim that the "terrorist operation" would end after one day.
In the video, the "Legion" now shares its own point of view in a very mocking tone: "Since they outnumbered and acted on familiar territory, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hid in panic on the landings and under the fences," she writes on Telegram.

"The video contains footage of a motorized rifle company hiding in abandoned residential buildings belonging to local residents," it is claimed. And then scoffed: "They wanted to play hide and seek, but our gunners play better."
"There is also destroyed and damaged equipment that will no longer drive on Russian roads to destroy Ukrainian cities," the Legion emphasizes. "Everything has just begun, wait and see," is how the Telegram post ends. International experts also believe that partisan actions against the Russian army will continue. (kat)
