Fake banker scam: how to increase the chances of getting reimbursed

The fake banker scam, nicknamed the "allo" practice, is now in the top 10 of the most frequent frauds. Consumers who fall victim to it can lose even their life's savings. Generally preceded by phishing - an SMS or an email with the name of an organization - the consumer is contacted by a fake bank advisor, who pretends a fraudulent operation on his account. Victims then give access to their account in good faith and are usually drained from available cash.

And finding your money is often the result of a long process. In three out of ten cases of fraud, aggrieved customers are not reimbursed because their bank considers them negligent. In mid-May, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, announced that he wanted to strengthen the fight against fraud and the facilitation of reimbursement procedures, "even when strong authentication has been carried out". An agreement has been reached between the public authorities, banks and consumer associations. Last week, the Bank of France asked branches to accept more refunds. What is the procedure to follow for the victim to find his money, even if the bank is recalcitrant?
