An indictment was filed in the Haifa District Court against Mahmoud Agbariya (28), a resident of Ma'awiya, for the murder of Kamal Mahameed, following a confrontation between the defendant and the deceased's son.
According to the indictment, Agbaria arrived in early April with another man near Mahameed's home and called out his son's name. Hearing his calls, the deceased and another family member left the house and met Agbaria. The defendant told Mahameed that he was looking for his son because several years ago he bought a pistol worth 5,000 shekels from him, which was malfunctioning. Mahameed Agbaria said they had nothing to do with the sale of the gun and that the accused should contact Ben directly.

The next day, Agbaria met Mahameed's son and claimed that he owed him a financial debt. In response, the deceased's son denied the existence of a financial debt to Agbaria. A confrontation ensued, during which the defendant threatened to harm and kill Kamal's family.

Against the background of the confrontation, Agbaria decided to shoot the deceased and cause his death. In order to carry out the decision, Agbaria and the man who was with him armed themselves with a gun and the vehicle, and forged the license plate of the vehicle. Agbaria called Mahamid, and the two agreed to meet near the deceased's house. Following the agreement, Mahameed left the house, stood on the road and waited for Agbariya to arrive. The defendant and his friend drove up near the house, stopped the vehicle a short distance from the deceased, and fired together at the deceased through the rear passenger window. At the end of the shooting, the two defendants fled the scene. Five of the bullets fired by the defendant hit Mahameed, who was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The State Prosecution seeks to detain the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
