The municipal council of Pliening has set the award guidelines and the rental prices for the municipality-owned rental apartments. Applications will be accepted from June.
Pliening – The municipal council has now set the allocation guidelines and rental prices for the total of 19 rental apartments in the municipality of Pliening, which are currently being built in the new development area Landsham-Süd (16) and in the Alte Schule in Gelting (3). Three of the apartments have already been reserved due to existing leases, the administration informs. For the remaining 16, the application process now begins. Both the apartments in Landsham-Süd and those in Gelting are scheduled for completion this year.

The target group for the low-priced rental apartments are "low-income and less affluent people of the local population," according to the preamble to the guidelines. The focus of the award is on income, explained Mayor Roland Frick and Head of the Building Authority Martin Schmidt-Roschow at the municipal council meeting. In order to be able to apply for one of the apartments, a certificate of eligibility for housing from the district office is required. According to the municipal administration, the following income limits (annual net income) currently apply: 22,600 euros (single) or 34,500 euros (couple/cohabitation, etc.); each additional person 8500 euros, each additional child 2500 euros. Example: For a married couple with two children, the income limit is 39,500 euros.
Pliening: Applications open from June
In addition, according to the administration's presentation, which was presented at the municipal council meeting, applicants who are not entitled to a certificate of eligibility for housing may also be eligible to apply in individual cases. Provided that they do not exceed a certain income.

In the second step, according to the administration, income and social criteria such as children, disability or need for care are taken into account when awarding points in order to establish an order of applicants. This is also where the locality comes into play. The decision on the allocation of the rental apartments will be made by the municipal council in a non-public meeting.
The award guidelines will come into force on 1 June, at which point you can apply in writing at Pliening Town Hall. Information and documents are available there as well as on www.pliening.de.
Also decided in the municipal council meeting before Pentecost were the cold rents for the apartments. For the units in the Alte Schule Gelting and in Landsham-Süd, they amount to between ten and just under twelve euros per square metre, depending on the size of the apartment.
